About the role:

As a Technical Designer you will work on developing, detailing and executing construction solutions suited for digital fabrication. You will collaborate with architects and construction managers, using your technical skills to bridge design intent with CNC-powered prefabrication. You have technical skills necessary to design functional and elegant construction details and the experience in realizing these. You will deploy these on building projects which employ CNC manufacture and prefabrication, focusing on the design of structure and envelope. Role summary:

We are looking for junior staff to join our Technical Design Unit where you will work on the next generation of construction technology.

You have a degree in Architecture or a related field where you honed advanced modelling skills in Rhino and Revit. Growth trajectory: The 6-month internship is a stepping-stone to becoming a permanent member of the Technical Design staff.

 

Role responsibilities:

• Develop design solutions for problems related to a building’s constructability and fabrication techniques whilst rigorously adhering to overall architectural intent.

• Visually comminate design ideas to a range of stakeholders using technical drawings, diagrams, 3D models and animations.

The Construction Manager is pivotal in managing our construction sites, bridging technical expertise with operational leadership. With a solid background in engineering or architecture and at least five years of construction field experience, the successful candidate will oversee on-site assembly and construction, ensuring the faithful execution of our digital designs to meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and budget control.

Carlo Ratti Associati Design (CRA) is looking for a junior figure to join the team as the Chief Operations Officer who will be in charge of the management and optimization of operations at our facility. Your responsibilities will encompass the efficient management of the facility: the CRA headquarters in addition to the IT infrastructure, resource allocation, project locations, and general logistics. You will be responsible for maintaining the operational excellence of the workforce and managing logistics of a wide variety. A degree in engineering or architecture is mandatory for this position.

The role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Executive Assistant to MIT Professor Carlo Ratti. In this position, the candidate will bridge key management teams across Prof Ratti’s Senseable City Lab, the design & innovation practices at Carlo Ratti Associati, and the construction-tech start-up Maestro Technologies. The position foresees handling a wide range of administrative and executive support tasks,  ensuring a smooth operational process. You’ll act as the primary liaison for Carlo Ratti with clients and his management team, with a focus on scheduling, project management, and decision processes.  This figure will be joining a team of 3 members named “the Cabinet”, assisting to manage processes smoothly.
