CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati is looking for a CREATIVE CODER / DATA VISUALIZATION SPECIALIST
with a strong affinity for new technologies, motivated to learn about the inner workings of a world-leading architecture firm. You will be working on various initiatives within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team and mentored by experienced professionals. You will be supporting the Graphic Team and the Communication Team in the development of content for project visualization and communication through innovative tools.


Main responsibilities:

•  Aggregate data in an actionable way.
•  Design data visualization tools or platform.
•  Prototype these tools (both the front and back end) through an iterative approach.
•  Create animations and videos based on data.
•  Explore and suggest innovative ways of visualization and communication.

 

Requirements:

•  Proficiency in web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
•  Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
•  Familiarity with design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
•  Training in graphics for multimedia design.
•  Relevant skills for interpreting, analyzing, and pre-processing data.
•  Basic knowledge of GIS or the mapping and use of geographic point and polygon location information.
•  Plus, but not a must: AR/VR application.

 

A combination of some or all the following skills is preferred:

•  Advanced knowledge of visualizations techniques and user interface design.
•  Ability to design in the browser.
•  Proficiency with JavaScript frameworks (Meteor, Mean or Derby).

As an Architect Intern in our Turin office, you will be working on various projects within a multidisciplinary and international design team and mentored by experienced architectural professionals.

•  Currently studying or recently graduated in Architectural, Building Engineering or other relevant studies

Carlo Ratti Associati is looking for Junior Designers and Designers with a strong affinity for new technologies and the curiosity to research how they can transform the world of tomorrow. As part of our offices in the United States and in Europe, you will be working as a member of a multidisciplinary and international design team, tackling global projects during all design phases, from designing concepts to drawing plans, creating renderings, and making presentations. Since the positions will initially be fully remote, you can work from anywhere in the world as long as you approximately align with New York’s time zone. Il ruolo prevede l’inserimento all’interno di Team che che si occuperà di progettazione esecutiva e Direzione Lavori al fine di:

• sviluppare progetti ed individuare soluzioni costruttive in corso d’opera

• svolgere visite e sopralluoghi in cantiere, partecipare a riunioni con clienti e fornitori e redigere i verbali di cantiere

• redigere la contabilità di cantiere

• conoscere approfonditamente e gestire contratti d’appalto per opere private e pubbliche

 

Requisiti del candidato:

• laurea in architettura o ing. civile;

• ottima conoscenza della lingua italiana;

• conoscenza di software di progettazione 2-3d Autocad, Revit (già utilizzati in ambito lavorativo);

• conoscenza del pacchetto Adobe (Photoshop/ Indesign) e Microsoft office (word/Excel);

• minimo 3 anni di esperienza professionale presso studi di Architettura/Ingegneria;

CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati, the international design and innovation practice led by MIT professor Carlo Ratti, is looking for a Data Entry Specialist with at least some experience working as a data entry operator or clerk, to join the company’s office in Torino. The company is currently updating its general database to set up an infrastructure of strategic importance for both internal operations and relations with external stakeholders. The collaboration would start immediately, and would have a minimal duration of two months.

Required knowledge skills and abilities:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel;

•  Organizational skills to perform activities with varying degrees of priorities;

•  Ability to attend to detail/accuracy;

 

Responsibilities:

•  Timely and accurate posting of multiple types of different datasets provided into the content management system for both public and private use:

•  Review dataset received for input from multiple sources; raise any questions and investigate when data for input does not look correct;

•  Rearrange and clean up data that have already been input within documented guidelines;

•  Conduct analysis to investigate possible errors in order to correct and validate data.

CRA Make is a Design and Build company pioneering the digital revolution in construction.
Founded by MIT professor Carlo Ratti, we leverage digital fabrication and off-site assembly to deliver
flat-pack construction systems for high-end architectural projects.

About:
We are looking for an Computational Architect to join the Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the motivation to learn in a fast paced, innovative environment. We hire via a 6-months internship.

The role of the DFMA team is twofold:
1. To unpack architectural designs into a set pre-assembled building systems comprised of digitally fabricated elements.
2. To generate CAD/CAM fabrication instructions for the production of individual elements.

Job Description:
•  Work alongside engineers and architects to develop architectural solutions into a set of digitally fabricated building systems. Your role will be to optimise complex geometries for fabrication using computational design tools (Grasshopper, Dynamo).
•  Produce fabrication-quality Revit models of building systems. You will be responsible for maintaining project-specific libraries of Revit families and creating material and component schedules.
•  Draft shop floor drawings for the in-house assembly of building systems.

Requirements:
•  Degree in Architecture or a related filed.
•  Fluency in English. Other European Languages are a plus.
•  Advanced knowledge of 3D modelling software such as McNeel Rhinoceros and visual programming software such as Grasshopper and Dynamo are required.
•  Experience of Autodesk Revit, as well as interoperability between Rhino and Revit.
•  Experience in programming languages such as C#, Python is a plus.
•  Experience working in the construction industry in general, and knowledge of prefabricated systems in particular is a plus.
